How we make Vanilla Pastry Cake?

Making a vanilla pastry cake is a delightful and straightforward process. Below is a simple recipe to guide you through the steps of creating a delicious vanilla pastry cake:

Ingredients:

For the cake:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup milk, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For the frosting (optional);

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (confectioners' sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

          Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line the bottoms with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract and continue beating until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Be careful not to overmix; just mix until everything is incorporated.
  • Divide the cake batter equally between the two prepared cake pans.
  • Bake the cakes in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • If you choose to frost the cake, you can prepare the frosting while the cakes cool.

For the frosting:

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue beating until well combined.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency. You can adjust the amount of milk to make the frosting thicker or thinner.

Assembling the cake:

Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand.

Spread a layer of frosting on top of the first cake layer.

Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.

You can decorate the cake with additional toppings like sprinkles, fruit, or chocolate shavings, if desired.

Enjoy your homemade vanilla pastry cake! It's perfect for any celebration or as a delightful treat for yourself and your loved ones.
